Current Events - Best Cities
Today for literacy we read another article. This article was about the best cities in the world. The first thing we had to do was read the article. When we finished reading it we had to do the recall questions and a little glossary. After we had to do a little activity to check if we read it. After that we had to add some facts about Auckland. Did you know that Sir Edmund Hillary was from Auckland.
Recall Questions
The main group of people in this article was the people of the cities. The key even in this article was about the best cities in the world. Did you know that Auckland is the best city in the entire world? This event is about cities like Auckland, Melbourne, Tokyo, Osaka and more. This event took place on the 17th June 2021. For me this article was mostly about the best cities in the world. In this article they also described the city and said a name people call it like it says that people call it ‘City Of Sails’.

Today for literacy we read another article. This article was about planting trees. The Ghana people wanted to plant trees because they can provide a lot for them. The first thing we had to do was read the article. The next thing we had to do was finish the recall questions then do a little glossary about the article. The next thing we had to was the activity. The activity basically proves if you read the article. After that we had to add some facts about Ghana. Did you know Ghana is in the centre of the world.

In this article the main group of people in this article are the people of Ghana and the
president Nana Akufo - Ado. The people aim to plant 5 million trees over the next 5 years.
In this article the key event in this article was planting trees because the people said that
they have many advantages because trees provide a lot of things like food. You use trees
to make houses. You can use trees for a lot of things.
This event took place in a country in west Africa Ghana.
This event took place on the 11th of June 2021.
This article was about planting trees. The Ghana people wanted to plant trees because
they can provide a lot for them. Like they can make houses out of them and you could
also make a lot of things out of trees. The people of Ghana aimed to plant 5 million trees
over 5 years.
Glossary:
Jubilee - Jubilee means a special anniversary of an event.
Haphazard - Haphazard means lacking any obvious principle of organization.
Evaporation - Evaporation means the process of turning from liquid into vapour.
Reservoir - Reservoir means a supply of source of something.

Today for literacy we read another article for current events. This article was about see through wings of a type of butterfly. The first thing we had to do was the recall questions and glossary. When we finished it we had to do a word search about the article. Once we finished the word search we had to had some facts about mexico. Did you know that the Mexico city is sinking about 10 inches a year.
Recall Questions
In this article the main group of people are some researchers from an american university. They wanted to find out what made the butterflies and moths' wings see through.
The key event from this article was about the butterflies and moths seen through wings. The researchers found some information about the wings; they found out that butterflies have scales.
They are found in many places like Colombia, in South America and the Central American countries of Mexico.
This event took place on the 1st of July 2021.
In this article they were talking about seeing through butterflies and moths. Some researchers from an american university came to study how the butterflies and moths' wings are seen through. They had to get powerful microscopes to study the glass wing butterflies' wings. The transparent parts of the wing have narrow bristle like scales.
Glossary :
Exception - Exception means a person or thing that is excluded from a general statement.
Membrane - Membrane means a thin sheet of tissue or layer of cells that act as a boundary.
Repel - Repel means drive or force.
Metamorphosis - Metamorphosis is the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.

Today I got 65% on Stage 8 Timed. I am going to try and get a higher score next time I do it.
Current Events Eusocial Plants Term 2

Today for literacy we did an activity on Eu - social plants. Eu - social means a animal or
insect showing a new level of social organisation. The first thing we had to do was we
had to read the article. Once we had finished the article we had to answer the recall
questions. When we finished the recall questions we had to do a little glossary of the
words that you don't know in the article. Once we finished the glossary we had to do a
little activity as you can see below. After we finished that we had to do some facts
about Lord Howe Island. If you don't know where Lord Howe Island is. It is in between
New Zealand and Australia in the Tasman sea.
Recall Questions
In this article the main group of people in this article is the researchers because it says
they were researching the plants then they found a type of fern called the
stag-horn fern. The key event was Eu-social plants and what insects live inside
of the trees like parasites. They were also talking about insects like bees,
the bee soldiers and the queen bee.
This article took place in the Tasman Sea between Australia
and New Zealand. The place the article took place at was Lord Howe Island.
This event happened on the 17th June 2021.
Glossary:
Deflect - Deflect is to cause something to go the other way.
Sterile - Sterile is to not produce.
Epiphyte - Epiphyte is when a plant grows on another plant.

Prototec Stage 8 Timed
Today I did Prototec Stage 8 Timed. I got 72% on my first try. I know improved because the last time I did I got 55% but now I got 72%.

Today I for maths I did prototec stage 8 timed for a warm up. I noticed that im improving because I used to get around 30% but now I got 55%.

Today I did Prototec stage 7 timed. Today I whispered out the questions because it kinda helps me. I think i'm improving because I usually get 95% on my third or fourth try. This week I scored 92% on my first try.
