Current Events Eusocial Plants Term 2
WALT: analyse media with an open but critical eye to inform our own opinions
Today for literacy we did an activity on Eu - social plants. Eu - social means a animal or
insect showing a new level of social organisation. The first thing we had to do was we
had to read the article. Once we had finished the article we had to answer the recall
questions. When we finished the recall questions we had to do a little glossary of the
words that you don't know in the article. Once we finished the glossary we had to do a
little activity as you can see below. After we finished that we had to do some facts
about Lord Howe Island. If you don't know where Lord Howe Island is. It is in between
New Zealand and Australia in the Tasman sea.
Recall Questions
In this article the main group of people in this article is the researchers because it says
they were researching the plants then they found a type of fern called the
stag-horn fern. The key event was Eu-social plants and what insects live inside
of the trees like parasites. They were also talking about insects like bees,
the bee soldiers and the queen bee.
This article took place in the Tasman Sea between Australia
and New Zealand. The place the article took place at was Lord Howe Island.
This event happened on the 17th June 2021.
